Crochet Feels

Updated: Aug 17, 2020

During the level 4 lock-down for the Covid-19 pandemic, I managed to hurt my right wrist again (I am right handed). I broke it in about 2008 or 2009. Luckily this time a few days in my wrist brace, not using it, and then taking it easy for a week or two fixed it right up. I am not writing this to tell you that I hurt my wrist rather that during the time when I couldn’t use my right hand and I resorted to doing crosswords left handed (they looked like they were done by a five year old), I realised just how much I enjoy crochet, how often I crochet, and how useful it makes me feel. In particular the feeling of being useful is not something that I had really considered before then. It seems to make sense, no matter what type of project that I make, I am still making something. The project may even be useful as well. Also, what I made is likely to be enjoyed by me or someone else.

I am pleased to have discovered this about crochet and myself. I like that crocheting makes me feel useful.

I certainly hope to be able to crochet for a long time.
