Let Me Tell You a Yarn.....

Yarn is a necessity for crochet, and I have talked bout it before in a post about the different sources of yarn. It allows me to indulge myself in winding multiple stands of thin yarn together to make a usable, and unique yarn, in a thickness that I like to use. Not only that, but I get to mix colours, yay, sometimes four or more strands. When mixing colours I sometimes put together colours I might not usually put together. More often than not it gives a result that I am happy with.

A benefit once I have made the balls of yarn, is that I have yarn that nobody else has. Yay me!

With this unique yarn I have the opportunity to make some projects and crochet that will have a unique look, again yay me!

I really like the effect of using this type of yarn. I think it adds extra visual interest and draws the eye.

As you can tell I really enjoy this process and I find a lot of creativity in it.

However, I call this advanced yarn when I am discussing yarn with a beginner, and there is a reason for that. When using yarn that is made up of multiple strands that are not plyed together, you have to be careful to make sure that when you work a stitch you catch all the individual strands. It is not difficult, as such, to use this yarn, you just need to be careful when you do. So, when you are learning this is not something you want to have to deal with.
